not really. It will be some hassle to get it running with the new tools,
without destroying contents. If you want/can recreate the array (and thus
use persistent RAID superblocks), then the transition brings you more
robust configuration management (accidentally moved devices will not hurt
the array), autostart/autostop and probably better performance as well.
(the readahead code is better tuned with the new patch). But YMMV, if you
are happy with your current setup, there is no reason to move :)

for RAID1/4/5 an upgrade is almost a must ...
