It depends highly on which raid version are you using. Please
specify kernel version, patch version and raidtools version.
If you use the latest (from
ftp://ftp.fi.kernel.org/pub/linux/daemons/raid/alpha) then you wish tu use
the persistent superblock feature.

highly useful in order to understand throughly software raid.
If during the setup or use of the raid you encounter errors,
please include the specific messages from syslog (/var/log/messages on a
RH system).
