Hi All:
My boss has asked me to setup a proxie server from scratch. I would like
to setup the machine on the following way:
Install the operating system on the Hard disd on the IDE contrler on the
mother board and a scsi card connected on the motherboard and one or
several disks connected to the scsi controler.
The idea of using raid is to add more disks onto the scsi
controler (Hot adding ?) when needed and combine the newly
added disk to the previous disks as one physical device.
Is it possible to add another disk without having to switch of the
machine?
is it possible to combine that newly added disk to the previous physical
device?
What motherboard make/model is recommended for such use?
What scsi controler (make/model) is recommended for such use?
What scsi disks are recomended recommended for such use?
If you have any sugestion/comment on what i should do or don't for this

The questions are a bit to long, but any help will be veru much
aprecciated.
