Don't you just love RedHat? In two successive releases they have managed to
create confusion that dominates the list for a while. And this despite the fact
that Ingo, I believe, works for them. Why can't they do anything the simple way?

Your initrd doesn't include the necessary RAID modules. There are two options:
(a) rebuild your kernel, building RAID into it (less flakey), or (b) make a new
initrd including the RAID support you need (less hassle).
