Hi people,
I'm running kernel 2.2.12 with 2.2.11 raid patch. Everything seems to be
ok, except that
i cannont manage to retreive an scsi disk from one of my two controllers
(aic7xxx and ncr8x drivers)
without drivers going into interruptible loop of "SCSI bus is being
reset for host X channel X" on stderr.
Linux keeps running but in _degraded mode_ (ping on local ethernet shows
times > 2 seconds), alt-fX takes
also few seconds before switching to specified vt).
All this stops when scsi cable is re-plugged (or when the kingston bay
door is closed again, i've tried this
first).
I know this is not exactly related to raid but rather to scsi drivers,
but i suppose there are experianced people on this list who could help
me with this. So, my question is, what scsi controller/driver would
permit hotswapping disk without causing this kind of trouble? My server
_must not_ stop working because of one scsi disk being down (if at all
possible).
Thaks!
