Do you mean "industrial strenght" or "industrial GUI"? :)

What do you mean by append? As I said on a post recently, I've
tried all backup "solutions" I came across, and none satisfied me like
backup/restore, or its fancier form, amanda. Althought I discarded them at
first, a closer look showed me their strong points...
It's not a matter of capabilities, it's simply that following
murphy's law, the first things aren't going to work when you're on fire
are the complexer ones. dump is simple, and reliable. restore -i allows
you to easily select arbitrary files to restore. Amanda aids on complexer
setups.
I guess the icing of the cake for restore would be either a
restore vfs for midnight commander and a php frontend to it (to allow
users to restore their own files). I know the cleverest people are on
this list :P does anybody has any idea on how to interface php with
restore?
That was another matter; if you need to be a rocket sciencist to
use your restoring software, you're gonna be pested daily to restore
things. And there will be more chances to make a mistake on a stressed
day... you know what I mean.
I have no idea of coding the mc part, and althought I'm an
ocassional PHP coder...
cheers,
