I presently have an ide raid 5 system that uses master/slave disks
that I'm upgrading to controller/disk. Reading through the various
raid threads leads me to believe that changing the position of a disk
in the array can cause problems and/or data corruption. Is there a
"safe" way to do it since when I install the additional ide cards the
devices will move to new 'hdX" numbers.
BTW, successfully upgraded from 2.0.33 raidtools 0.42 to 2.2.14
raidtools 0.90. Went without a hitch, including deleting and
replacing all the old OS tools as well
