I don't know about a possibility to boot from a RAID 1 array. (Only RAID 0 and
LINEAR are bootable...)
I created a small boot partition (100M), and several partitions for RAID 1. I
have my base system on the boot partition, so that Linux is able to boot
without knowing anything about RAID. To mirror the boot partition, I use dd at
the moment.
This works, but isn't a very good solution to the problem, because the /
partition is not _really_ mirrored.
So I will have to continue to work on this...
