?? "raid patches" ??  The controller presents a logic drive to the kernel
as a block device (none of this SCSI mess to deal with :-))  So, what does
the (linux kernel/software?) raid patches have to do with anything?

That's a lot of CPU being used for a hardware RAID device.

I'll have to play with my AccelRAID 150 -- of course, Mylex has some problems
to fix on this thing. (parity calculation bug it would appear.)
