My problem is the MVP3 chipset is not seen by linux even with this patch as 
ATA-66 compatible.  My ATA-33 drive shows better transfer rates with 
tiobench than the ATA-66... hdparm won't allow me to set ATA-66 either... 
Tells me UDMA modes 3/4 are not available.  In the Dmesg it identifies the 
chipset as "ATA/33" after the 82C596...
