Hi!
I've got a system with an Adaptec aic7899 controller and on
- channel A (SCSI): iomega JAZ 2 GB, CDR Plextor
- channel B (SCSI160): 2 IBM Harddisks (device 0 and 1)
Installing SUSE Linux 7.2 was no problem, the 2 HDs were mounted to "sdb" and
"sdc" ("sda" was reserved for the iomega JAZ drive). The current BIOS- and
SCSI-configuration is set to boot from SCSI, channel B, device 0.
Problem:
While booting LILO stops with:
LI
This is because the kernel _only_ tries to boot from SCSI channel A and finds
the iomega JAZ as SCSI-drive (sda). But the system is installed on sdb. As
far as I know, swapping the two channels is not possible.
Anyone out there who knows how to solve the problem?
Thanks,
Michael
