Yes, works very reliably with Gerard Roudier's 3.0i ncr53c8xx driver.
The only thing I would like to know, some day, is how/if you need
to configure termination when using bizarre setups (for now I have
either used a fully non wide or a fully wide bus, and either
internal or external).

You want to do tricky things (the kind of things which usually
break on the Adaptec 2940UW if you do not disable automatic
termination).

Theoretically yes, although you have to double check this adapter
properly terminates the high lines. Most of the adapter sold in the
commerce do fancy things with the high lines. Also, check that
the adapter, if it terminates properly, terminates actively.
Also, you can use any two of the connectors, not more, presumably.

yes. However note that the ZIP drive, if it's IOMEGA, is rumoured
to have bad SCSI behaviour. Anyone can comment ?

uh? Why should it be ?

SCSI allows any chaining you want, as long as you respect the
following rules (those are for Ultra SCSI):

   - active termination at each *end* of cable. One end could be
the ZIP external drive, the other end an internal SCSI HD.
If any of those is 50 pins (8 bit SCSI), you need proper high
     bits termination

   - maximum total cable length 1.2 meter

   - minimum length between devices 30 cm

   - no T like connection.
