Can you give the detail ? Such as exact kernel release, SCSI hardware, etc ?
Can you also give me the jumper detail of the SDT-9000, and the SCSI bus
configuration and topology details ?

I have one SDT-9000 with 125m tapes on a 2.2.13 SYM53C875 Linux PC, one on a
2.0.27 + patches with AHA1542, and one on a 2.0.38 SYM53c810 Linux PC,
without any problem, running for more than one year daily backup on 2.0.27.
Note that it is possible for the SDT-9000 to cause timeouts in some rare
cases (head clogging because you didn't clean regularly, when loading
a tape). Using a killall syslogd klogd before starting the test can
help in seeing that kind of things.
