You can use a female D-SUB connector (either 9 or 25 pin) and
simply connect pin 2 and 3 together with a piece of wire. This
avoids the need of direct IO programming the UART chip for
switching the internal loopback on.
This is a very simple loopback connector, because it leaves the
modem control signals unused. In consequence you must set the
CLOCAL flag when you initialize the port.
