Hi,
Just diskdruid or linux fdisk are able to make new linux partitions.
The best thing to do is to reinstall Linux.
Just take care at these following points :
- Create the first partition /boot 39Mo (maximum) in the first 1024
bytes.
If you have a dual boot machine, allow a maximum of 8Go to
Windows and one 39Mo for Linux, then what you like.
If you have only Linux, begin by this first small partition.
- The rest (as you like)
At the end of the installation, let LILO write on the MBR (Master boot
Record) only if you have Win9x and NOT if you have WinNT.
Hope this helps.

Subject: Networking beginner question
Date: Fri, 14 Jul 2000 07:36:24 GMT
Hello all
I am a beginner student in TCP/IP programming and networking (Linux
platform). I need some advice and suggestion about how to be able to control
and manipulate all the IP datagram which are entering or leaving my computer
at any time. I want to use this program to test networks protocol.
I want to be able to get the source and destination address for an IP
packets, dropping some of the IP packet and delaying between them.
I will be very glad if you will answer following question:
1-Should I make my own network driver in order to manipulate the IP
datagram?
2- Is it possible to configure my computer to be a router, and receive all
the IP datagram, manipulate them and forward to their destination, let say
my computer is router for three other computer (only a small intern network,
not connected to internet ). Should I make my own IP protocol in this case,
or again I should make my own driver for this computer too ? or other
suggestion.
3- Could I find any programmable devices, which could be used for this
purpose, and giving the possibility of modifying its network driver or
modifying its way for packet forwarding ?.
I hope you can help and giving me some idea and some direction. You can mail
me directly so I have your suggestion.
Thanks in advance

Hello David,
Thanks for your comments. When I ran sndconfig ones more using the
options in your conf.modules file, that made my day. It seems like the
changes of DMA options was the trick. The sound-slot alias entry was
something I used during test since it didn't work (looked at/stole
from other conf.modules found on news etc), i.e. was not put there by
sndconfig.
Thx again.
Cheers Sverre

ang jpg libs to be present. get them at the debian ftp. in order to use
enlightenment as your wm add the enlightenment file name and directory
to the .xinitrc ile in your home directory.
for example
exec /usr/local/enlightenment/bin/enlightenment

Subject: Reverse DNS problem
Date: 14 Jul 2000 08:46:26 GMT
Hi!
I have a question about the Reverse DNS. Have it on the system, and had it
working til now. The former admin installed Mandrake, I installed Debian :\
I preserved the configfiles and zonefiles during the install, but the
RevDNS isn't working. As a matter of fact, the subnet that we have is the
0-127.2.5.92.in-addr.arpa, the nameserver is 212.92.5.2
As far as I know, the DNS is working from anywhere, but after reading and
reconfiguring the configurational files several times again and again, it
still refuses to work. Can't imagine why ...
Anybody's got a clue, plz mail me in private, and we can have it discussed.
Before anybody returns me "Read The F!@##$ Howto", I can say, I read it at
least 2 times in the past 2 days and twice before.
Thx,

export MANPATH=<what_you_have_for_MANPATH_as_root>
