in slackware, you edit /etc/lilo.conf
The file is relatively easy to change.
Then you run LILO by typing LILO and hitting return. These reloads the LILO
program to wherever you have it installed.

No, they'll be fine.
Have you thought of using a common partition for both Windows(X) and=20
Linux? It could be FAT32 and you could share all your files.

By the way, that happed to me every time my florescent light would be
turned on by a photocell at dusk before I installed the UPS.

unless your route table is set up properly, you won't even see the external
interface from windows...
the gateway should be the nic they can see... the router/linux box does all the
routing/forwarding between the two nics/subnets

Hi Roald,
Did you compile the source from the Creative Labs' site directly, or try to
integrate it into the /usr/src/linux source tree? I compiled it
independently and it gave even more errors than the source that shipped with
RH 6.2! Did you do anything special? Did you download the latest CVS
snapshot, or the latest tar.gz source version? I did the lattter.

Hi,
Has anyone been able to add a hot spare to a RAID5 device (eg /dev/md0) without
having to rebuild the entire device? It seems that this should NOT force a
rebuild of the entire RAID5 volume, as the hot spare will initially not really
be used... I'd just like to be able to add it without having to rebuild the
whole array, necesitating a backup of the data, then a restore...
Thanks!

Well, I copied them across to linux and when to run the install program
which immidiately pops up to tell me that I dont have enought free space to
download the packages to /var/cache/helix-code.
I have pleanty of free space (about 4 GB)
I have one large root partition (about 6 GB) and a swap
I have tried using the -d switch to specify a different directory, but I
always get the same message.
I am using mandrake 7.1 with xfree 4.01 on a 6 GB hard drive
Any ideas??
