Hi there,
i have a problem with sendmail. I have my local network with a "not real"
domain ... called palla.it, and an "real" email address like [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Well, i want that the users of the local network can exchange emails seeing
the not real domain ( [EMAIL PROTECTED] ) but.. when an user sends an
email out of the local area ... the server must be change the sender address
in [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I followed strictly the Sendmail address rewriting howto, IT WORK! but ,
linux change also the address of the emails delivered locally, if
[EMAIL PROTECTED] send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ( local users ) ..
[EMAIL PROTECTED] see the email as sended by [EMAIL PROTECTED]
WHY??? in the howto is specified that will be changed only the outgoing
mail.... the mails sended to the smarthost.
Please help me.... ;-)

No they are not. Only windows thinks they are. You can easily format a fat32
partition with the ext2 FS. fdisk would still report it as fat32. But since
you mount a filesystem, not a partition, you must specify -t ext2 to be able
to mount it.

No wonder fat32 is not a FS module in linux. The name is vfat (as Ralph
already mentioned)
> But after logging on as root and if i give mount /dev/hda6 (windows d

If you specify mount with more than one option, the fstab file isn't read. A
default list of FS types is tried to mount the FS, if you didn't specify a
FS-type.
vfat is appearantly present (or msdos was, both will succeed, the main
difference is in the filenames 8.3 convention the msdos module uses)

I don't know by heart, but I doubt you reached that number already.

skip the 32 part, and it'll work

Subject: BackSpace Keycode trouble
Date: Thu, 21 Dec 2000 08:25:47 +0000
I have just upgraded my Linux system to RedHat 6.2, using their standard
upgrade program, but unfortunately since then, one key code (BackSpace)
doesn't work properly. (It did before.) I want the backspace key to
delete backwards, and the del key to delete forwards, but both keys are
deleting forwards.
I have a .inputrc file containing:
DEL: delete-char
My .Xmodmap file contains:
keycode 22 = BackSpace
When I run xev and hit the Backspace and Del keys, it says:
KeyPress event, serial 21, synthetic NO, window 0x2000001,
root 0x26, subw 0x0, time 2428365545, (-5,-21), root:(491,682),
state 0x0, keycode 22 (keysym 0xff08, BackSpace), same_screen YES,
XLookupString gives 1 characters: "
and
KeyPress event, serial 21, synthetic NO, window 0x2000001,
root 0x26, subw 0x0, time 2428368245, (-5,-21), root:(491,682),
state 0x0, keycode 107 (keysym 0xff08, BackSpace), same_screen YES,
XLookupString gives 1 characters: "
So both keys are supposedly sending backspace, which is wrong to start
with, but then this "backspace" deletes the wrong direction.
Totally fogged,

Did you try a search at http://www.google.com/linux for "tftpboot"?

Hallo,
Ik probeer RedHat 6.2 te installeren op een machine met een Intel 810
chipset (geintegreerde video kaart). Xconfigurator herkend de videokaart,
maar als ik startx intik krijg ik een foutmelding over /dev/agpgart.
De website van XFree86 zegt het volgende:
In order to use most resolutions, it is necessary to install the 'agpgart.o'
module which accompanies this server. You will probably have to compile the
module yourself (see the notes in the module).
Waar vind ik die module? Hoe moet ik die compileren? En dan?

hello from dublin,
Has this ever worked for you on any version of linux?
I have a hacked version of Suse 6.4 on my home PC and use a "no-name"
modem for downloads.
I'm using Netscape Communicator (free version) that I downloaded from
somewhere.
I never have any problems with large downloads - the download box
occassionally shows
a "20% of 200k/s (stalled... ) " message sometimes but usually continues
after a second or two.
I'm no expert in modems but you could try one of the following (if nobody
else has the answer):
- download latest version of wvdial from sourceforge
- Download a later kernel from source into /usr/src/, rm
/usr/src/linux, ln -s /usr/src/<linux-new-kernel> /usr/src/linux,
cd /usr/src/linux/, make xconfig, check a few things,
make dep, make clean, make bzlilo or bzImage, make modules, make install,
cp the newly compiled kernel to the /boot/ , run lilo and
reboot. read the kernel howto.
- download a protocol analyiser such as "ethereal" and install.
Then capture all network traffic on
your pc and examine it or post the results here..
- Borrow a different brand external modem from a friend and install
on your Suse PC. Maybe your
current modem has some non-standard configuration.
- Have you tried alt.os.linux.suse (but I think this problem is
not particularly distribution related)
These are the only suggestions I can think of.
regards,
Noel.

FYI, Linux is already accepted by the masses. They are just different
masses than your masses.
If I were a first time Linux user and I wanted a debian experience, I would
most certainly choose Storm for that experience. If you chose basic old
debian, its what I use. I dearly love debian and I can get a system up and
running in some minutes. But the true labor of love is the geeking out with
apt-get sessions all nite long :)
Find a distribution that helps you along to learn Linux. I think SuSE and
Mandrake do this. Debian really does not. But it has never claimed to do
that. OTOH, Debian is a sweetie and good looking and people will tire of
the endless secondary dependency quibbling after some time and end up with
debian.
