Whatever directory that file lives in isn't in your PATH shell variable.
In your .bashrc you should set your PATH to point to whatever directory
that file is in as well as the other executable directories. e.g.:
export PATH=/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/usr/local/bin:.
For enough details to choke a horse, try "man bash".

Why not just have a separate mountpoint for the other type of media?

Subject: printing to postscript file or to pdf with ghostscript
Date: Fri, 2 Feb 2001 20:37:20 -0600
I've been tearing out my hair trying to setup a printer in RH7 to either
print to a file using postscript or setup a printer to print through
ghostscript and create a pdf file.
Any hints? gs's docs are not helping, though it's probably the lack of
sleep...:-)
The reason is that my BJC-5100 will not work with Linux, though at least I
can print to file from Star Office and then convert it using ps2pdf. Then I
can use windows to print the files.
Thanks

You have the linux partition with boot starting at cylinder 9xx ending at
cylinder >1024.
To fix your problem, create a small /boot partition (16MByte) at cylinder 9xx
and hopefully it does not end
beyond 1023.

I have been irritated by not having gpm running my mouse
properly, and I was playing around with its settings the other day.
When I booted this morning I got kudzu telling me that my Serial mouse
had been removed, or something like that, and I accidentally hit
"Remove Configuration" instead of 'Do Nothing". Now I have no mouse!
Running 'mouseconfig' does nothing. I've checked my hwconf file and
there's nothing to do with a mouse in there. How on Earth do I get it
going again? I'm running Mdk 7.2, the mouse is a MS IntelliMouse 1.1A
Serial Compatible.
Had to post this again because a crappy phone line has kept me
offline for the past few days :(
Thanks!

I still think KDE 2 craps all over Gnome, imho :)

If I remember correctly, in a SMP scenario, the kenrel disables APM and
as such, the machine won't power-off automatically..
This was the case on all pre-2.4 kernels. I'm not sure if they've
changed that in the 2.4.x kernels..Regards

You are root when you install the RPM right? If not, do so and you
should be fine..
If you wish to be a regular user and install RPM's you're gonna have to
"chmod u+s" a whole boatload of progrmas..Regards

You are not using all of the space on the drive, but all remaining space is
partitioned to Windows. You need to download fips which will split your DOS
partition. Your old information should still be there, unless you do it wrong,
and you should be able to install linux on the new partition. Just make sure
you leave enough space for both partitions....
So, in the linux installer, pick the new partition to install to. Not Fat32 as
that is Windows.
If you need more detailed instructions you can e-mail me...

S3 Trio 3D/2X not listed on the XFree page,
but S3 Trio 3D shows the X server as XF86-VGA16.
Where does that info go? In the CF86Config file? where?
I've set XConfigurator to recognise the 3D/2X card but so far,
still the same old blank mouse square. We must be getting close though.

You don't use GhostScript to create a PostScript file.
All you need to do is tell the application to print to a file and that file
should be PostScript.
Then if you need a PDF, use "ps2pdf"
Also, regarding your "paperweight" and/or "doorstop" ;-) printer. What
application would you like to print from?

Doug, it sounds as if you are using the wrong mouse driver for your

I also use a FIC motherboard, and redhat seems to have trouble detecting

Well, first off, PPP does not use dhcp, dhcp is for ethernet devices,
you will manualy have to go in and add your nameservers to resolve.conf
I have set up ppp on a number of systems, following the instructions in
the PPP HOWTO,
here's the URL,
http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/docs/HOWTO/PPP-HOWTO
If you read through the whole thing, it will walk you step by step
setting it up,
I realize it's a lot of reading, but imo it's a good set of
instructions.
As for finding what auth method it uses, in windows right click on the
connection indicater and go to properties,
if it uses pap, or chap then it should say so in there,
