Not any more. I've used the 2.96-77 version for the last 3 or 4 kernel
compiles (2.4.x), works great. But please note that there are a total
of 6 or so packages that all go together, and versions shouldn't be
mixed between various pieces. If you go after 2.96-77 from the bero
site, get *everything* there with that version number includeing
libstdc++ and such. I believe rawhide also has this latest version.
Cheers, Gene

That's is all I wish to do. Do I use equal cost multipath routing and if
so
do I need to do any thing other then recompile my kernel with this
option on?
I am using RH6.2 with the 2.2.17-14 kernel and all required security
updates. I have looked but the only real hits I get is for routers like
Ciscos.

Only a mail server and that will use one interface only. I don't need
load sharing for mail.

Yeah I have Mandrake 6.2 but it says nothing about packages.
I tried installing it before and I could not even get the windows
like window to open (X Window I think it is called) . Not to sure
if I even installed it. The book tells you nothing about useability
for new users. I have never used Linux before but want to learn
as I am getting VERY tired of Windows crashing.
Thanks for any help

Its hosed as far as being able to boot from that install. In your case,
I'd find a friend and build a boot floppy with initrd support for your
hardware, bring it back and try it. I've never done that myself.
I think what happened is that 2.2.2 requires >=2.4.0, and you were
showing it as <=. But don't hold my hand over the good book and make me
say that, I've been wrong before and could be this time.

to keep your clock in UTC or local time, but noth-

this option is how you give that information to

In order to avoid any possible misunderstandings:
all conversation with the program hwclock is done

`hwclock --show --utc' will tell you the local
time, assuming the hardware clock is in UTC, and
`hwclock --set --date="XXX" --utc' will set the
hardware clock to the UTC equivalent of the l

Hi,
I am looking for the RH 7.0 lilo.conf file that gives you that nifty

get is a text prompt.
If anyone can mail me that file that would be great!

For most laptops, at least for thinkpads, choose "Generic LCD" as
monitor type, with the appropriate resolution. LCD's are pretty
resilient with regards to resolution if you're in the ballpark.
I want to redo mine when I connect to an external monitor, so I'll see
how that works out.

I think it's the "/boot/message" file that has this. You can always
extract this off of the CD again (rpm2cpio will help).
