I know that this is technically not about SMP... But people on this list might
know the answer.
I'm thinking of building a clustered compute server. It would have about
20-30 nodes consisting of the following:
- motherboard
- 333MHz Celeron/Mendicino CPU w/128M L2
- CPU heat-sink fan
- some inexpensive EIDE UltraDMA disk size between 4G and 16G
- tulip-based 100Mbit/sec ethernet card
- 256M ECC SDRAM
Do you know of a rack-mount case that can hold lots of motherboards with one
disk per motherboard? All of the rack-mount cases that I have seen have lots
of drive bays. And because of the many drive bays, they only hold six
rack-mount cases per rack. I don't need disk expandability. And I'd like to
pack 20 to 30 nodes into one to two racks. Is that possible?
