A colleague of mine is having a hang problem with his Tyan Tiger II MB
when running an SMP kernel. It works fine in single cpu kernel.
He says:
<quote>
Every time I try to upgrade to use both PII-300s that it
has, it eventually locks up (normally about 18 hours later).
I most recently tried 2.2.1 and got the same symptoms. I'm now running
2.0.36 on 1 processor.
It is:
1. reproducable (every time I try the kernel it eventually locks up)
2. generates no usable debugging stuff that I can find

They're not.

They *claim* to be 300s. how would I tell for sure?

But wouldn't the temperature be a problem for 1 CPU as well? I'm
not changing the hardware when I reboot kernels. Just the kernel.

MTRR was off. Now on. rebuilding now.

The FAQ mentions the Tyan. I've got a Tyan Tiger II. but I think
my RAM is good.

He sends a cat /proc/cpuinfo and I see two types of P-II. Is this an issue?

Do you see anything odd in the following? (Running 2.2.1 SMP/MTRR for now)

I see a Deschutes and Klamath. They are different enough that I wonder
if they can be mixed on a Tyan Tiger II MB.
