Well, here are my _personally_ experience.
- Quantum has produced several disks with bad SCSI implementation
causing Linux to crash.
- I have an old notebook with a quantum disk ignoring read errors.
(no error reported to the OS, but garbage data)
- Quantum is leader in my companies head crash hit list.
