Hi, I am still seeing a lot of people who notice problems with system responsiveness on SMP systems. My scheduler bigpatch (available from my home page) has fixed all these problems, but a lot of people seem to be unaware of the existance of the patch or they just don't believe it is SMP safe. This message is to inform you of a solution to the responsiveness problem (my patch) and of the fact that I am happily running it on an SMP system myself -- without any trouble whatsoever. If there's enough 'mass' behind (pieces of) my patch I might be able to push some needed pieces into the main kernel tree and our (well, your) responsiveness problems will be gone forever... cheers, Rik -- the flu hits, the flu hits, the flu hits -- MORE +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Linux memory management tour guide.
