If etc is make modules, make modules_install, cp vmlinuz System.map /boot,
the everything is OK. Now don't forget to edit lilo.conf to point to your
new image and rerun lilo.

You can also try "uname -a" or "cat /proc/version" to see which kernel you
are
really running.
