If you are running redhat, check /etc/lilo.conf to see what you are
booting, and then check /boot to see what you ought to be booting.
I always edit this file first, as RedHat has is screwed up.  Just
make it "image=/boot/vmlinuz".  Then each new "make install" will
update everything just fine...
