I'm not sure why people say this. Intel's docs (datasheet, manuals)
make no mention of such no-SMP chips. the current PIII spec update
lists all PC-PGA chips as merely not [yet] validated for dual processing,
but then again, that's almost certainly just a testing issue, since the
new 1GHz version, in SECC2 format, also gets that annotation.
