Wish I could tell you about mine, but it isn't built yet. Does anyone
have any successful configuration recommendations for SMP
Athlon configurations (preferably @ 1GHz)? I'd like to know what
motherboard you used, what Linux kernel version you had to use to
make it work (e.g., 2.3.99-pre5), how much memory, problems, etc.
I ask the above question because I am unsure of Linux's
compatibility with the Athlons, SMP and even Uni-Processor (sorry
if I'm an idiot here). I just easily built a dual-CPU Pentium III
(Katmai) system with a SuperMicro PIIIDME m/b with 256MB
SDRAM, and it's quite solid. The only effort here was building a
development kernel because despite what I read to the contrary,
kernel 2.2.14-5 (redhat's 6.2 production kernel) only recognized
64MB of memory on this machine. But I somehow don't think that
the Athlon build will be so easy. Advice anyone...before I leap???
Thanks for any effort to reply...
