Just curious, would you REALLY spend the money for a FIRST generation dual
1GHz Athlon motherboard?

According to this article http://www.amd.com/products/cpg/athlon/index.html
(discussing memory technology) AMD is supposed to introduce an AMD760
chipset
Q3 2000 and after an AMD770 that supports SMP. I don't know how official
this
is nor if there are other companies working on alternative chipsets (VIA for
example)
