sorry, i didn't read your original message.
i assume you mean quake3. i have the same problem with it. there is no solution
at the moment.
the problem with q3 is the DGA mouse feature enabled (you can't move your mouse
smoothly with DGA disabled). enable/disable with "/in_dgamouse 1" /
"in_dgamouse 0" and "vid_restart"
this all is with xfree3.3.x.
xfree4.0.0 is told to be not able to use dgamouse. xfree4.0.1 should solve the
problem (but i'm still waiting for the release).
my 2nd cpu only gets 99% load (from X) when the dgamouse hangs (can't move my
player in quake).
i found that loggin from another computer via telnet and executing some
commands (like ps, ls,..) frees my 2nd cpu and awakes my player in quake3 (it
will hang again but you can play a bit)
