My understanding is that Red Hat back-ported a bunch of 2.5 code into THEIR version of 2.4.21. Very "helpful", that, having a hybrid of two different major kernel versions in the same source release. LiS might just have to take a pass on this distribution. On the other hand I have not had time to look into it here so there might be a straightforward kludge, er, workaround.

The UnitedLinux 1.0 Service Pack 3 beta, which also
uses a 2.4.21 based kernel, does not have this problem.
Was a bugzilla item opened with RedHat about this?
I haven't tried the RedHat EL3 (taroon) yet,
maybe next week.
