Duh!  I didn't even have it as a module!
Sorry for wasting your time, and thanks for putting me on the right track.
My A2000 now boots the "3.14.0-rc6-00163-g4c89db4" kernel successfully.
Compared to the previous 3.4 kernel I was using, some features are still
missing, of course.
The main one for me, is the lack of audio out (I guess I'll have to use
a USB audio dongle in the mean time).
