Yes it's actually tv-in. It looks like it was tested on android, anyway it's a
bit different, it seems the hardware also has a 3d comb filter too.

In any case, I was able to capture images using the android kernel 3.3 driver!
It is still quite quirky as it would need to be modified to get rid of all the
private stuff. But with some modification I was able to stream it through
ffmpeg and create a video.
I can post my modifications if someone is interested. I could be a starting
point to a working driver.
Please do, if only for archival purpose ;)
