While I agree with you that this attitude goes against creating a strong incentive for the liberation of the video engine, please keep in mind that this is a personal decision. It is not very fair to blame someone because they decided that they need something that works as soon as possible, for reasons that you totally ignore and do that not concern you in any way. Please respect other's decisions that primarily affect themselves, even though they do have a "drop in the ocean" effect on the big picture. The community is indeed not providing support for any of the proprietary mess that comes out of Allwinner, but it is not a reason to be blame those that wish to use that. Frankly, I find this attitude a bit disrespectful.
