mmap error in paged screen memory

Hi there!

I just installed SVGAlib on my new machine. Unfortunately I'm not able 
to switch to any vgamode. The programs crush with the message "mmap 
error in paged sreen memory".
Is that error possibly caused by a wrong configuration and how can I fix 
the problem?

If you similar trouble or just know what the problem is, please let me 
know!
