If I remember correctly, BMP's are usually aligned on a 4 byte boundary, therefore, 
even and odd don't matter.  Since 90 is not a multiple of four, you get the stagger 
effect that you are experiencing.  If you pad each scanline by two more bytes, things 
should start to look right.
