thanks for the kind words of encouragement. i am really hoping i
can make it work without opening the case again, but if that is the
last resort ....
i guess next i will try the kernel patches, and also, auto module
loading instead of manual. i saw something about modprobe being
broken in claus's doc's.
my motto is .. never give up!
