I have a external parallel port Ditto 2G and
have the same symthom. I am also using 4.03-pre2.
I just use tar for backup.
Tar in gives error in the syslog files; and it will proceed til fininsh.
Tar out bombed somewhere deep into the set (~ 20Mb point of a 80Mb tar).
