I'm trying to use an iomega ditto easy 3200 parallel port tape drive with ftape
4.03-pre2 under redhat 5.2 (kernel 2.0.36).
Basic communication with the tape drive seems to work in that it does something when I
use ftmt commands, etc. The problem is that if I attempt to use bru (BRU2000-15.0P-2)
to do a backup everything also seems to work but if I attempt to verify internal
consistency or compare files I will always get an error somewhere (apparently
randomly) withing the backup. The errors are frequently interpreted as end of volume.
I have also tried to use tar but can't seem to even get the backup to finish without
an error.
Anyone out there have any ideas?
