I have been using ftape for quite a while. When backups were
tried yesterday the following occured.
This is a Colorado 1400 floppy tape drive, (drive type =
0x11c3)
drive status = 0x00639865

(In particular: * at begin of tape * tape online * )
sense key error = 0x0000001a
residue count = 0
file number = 0
block number = 0
MTIOCVOLINFO result:
file number = 0
block size = 10240
physical space used = 1.1 gigabytes
real size of volume = 1.7 gigabytes
compression ratio = 64 %
MTIOCGETSIZE result:
total bytes on tape = 1.6 gigabytes
total bytes used = 1.1 gigabytes
total bytes left = 526.7 megabytes
[root@server /home]# tar -cvf /dev/zqft0 ./
tar: Cannot open /dev/zqft0: Read-only file system
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
[root@server /home]# Readgg
What caused the file system to be "read-only".
