Trying to kill the keyboard, [EMAIL PROTECTED] produced:

char-major-27 is ftape.  You somehow managed to screw up your
/etc/conf.modules (probably called /etc/modules.conf) and have
ftape try to call itself.  (alias loop)  Thus ftape does not get
loaded ... presto, no floppy tape modules in memory and the
result is obvious.
