Hi!
Trying to kill the keyboard, [EMAIL PROTECTED] produced:

Well, Linux does it it's way. It's as consistent as DOS, just
different. :-)

So the lp module does the polling.

You can read the code (and docu) for the options in
/usr/src/linux/drivers/char/lp.c, somewhere down in the code:
/* Command line parameters:
[...]
Syntax: lp=port0[,irq0[,port1[,irq1[,port2[,irq2]]]]]
For example: lp=0x378,0 or lp=0x278,5,0x378,7
Note that if this feature is used, you must specify *all* the ports
[...]
*/
You can set the parameters in /etc/conf.modules if you use
modules (see man modprobe for the format).

if ($Linux{Version} >= 2.2) {
print "You need the latest *un*stable FTAPE (at the\n";
print "moment) since kernel structures have changed.\n";
} else {
print "Send logs, maybe we can help.\n"
};

Right!

Naah, you understand Linux quite well; at least you understand
how to get friends with Linux.
