Hi,

ftape is the right driver only for 
- floppy tape drives (= connected to that floppy cable)
- some parallel port drives

If you have a scsi drive (= connected to the scsi bus resp. to 
the scsi controller) you cannot use ftape. If this is the case
you need general scsi support in the kernel and scsi tape support (st.o).
