Hi,
I'm using the T3000 on several machines. I use the ancient ftape drivers
supplied in kernel distributions 1.2.8 - (at least) 2.0.34. Rebuild kernel
saying "Y" to floppy tape and QIC 117. Do not load the ftape modules
available from Claus' aachen site (the linux ftape project). Use the
device /dev/ftape instead of /dev/qft0 , /dev/nqft0.
Claus and other subscribers to this list are doing a sterling job in
providing Linux drivers for the later Floppy Tape devices, especially if
you take into account the absence of cooperation from the
leading manufacturers (notably Iomega) and the variable quality of the
products (notably the Ditto * *). But for internal drives up to TR3
capacity, I would recommend the kernel ftape drivers.
