After upgrading to from 2.0.36 (build ftape 4.02 as module) to 2.2.5
(ftape driver static in the kernel) I have problems to use the tape
(Seagate QIC-3020). There are some errors during access and the tool
ftformat doesn't function any more (wrong API). I studied the source of
kernel 2.2.5 (which was shipped from SuSE) and uncovered that the driver
version was 3.04b. I tried to compile ftape 4.02 as module, but there
are errors. Are there the possibility to insert the source of ftape 4.02
into the kernel sources so that I can compile a new kernel (ftape
static) or can I modify the source of ftape-tool so that it cooperates
with ftape-3.04b.
