If the HP Colorado 14GB parallel port tape is similar to the HP 8GB or 5GB
parallel port tape drive, then you need the paride set of drivers, not ftape.
You can find information about paride in the kernel documentation, or
visit linux-parport mail archive (I have forgotten the url).
