Hello linux-tape,

I can't seem to get my tape drive to work. I have several tape
drives working fine on other machines, but this one is giving me
  some problems.

My tape drive is a floppy drive piggybacked type. My tape starts
going through its motions whenever the machine is powered up, the
kernel (Linux 2.2.5-15, RH), loads the ftape module whenever I issue
the "mt -t /dev/nrft0 rewind" command (lsmod shows the ftape
loaded), but I continue to get the "/dev/nrft0 No such device"
error. I have also tried different devices, i.e. rft0, etc., bt no
luck. The devices are there in my "/dev" and the permissions show
  " crw-rw---- 1 root disk 27, 4 May 5 1998 nrft0"

  Need help here, I'm lost.

  Thanks

Best regards,
 Perry mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
