OK, I finally managed to get ftape compiled. now I can use the modules
"ftape.o", "zftape.o" and "bpck-fdc.o". That are the only ones needed for my
Ditto. ftape and zftape load ok, without any errors. Then comes bpck-fdc. If
I specify the wrong base address, it says, that it got a bad response. If I
specify the right base address, it says, that it read the right response
(0x40, I think). Then it tries to probe the IRQ, I think, but it fails on
that and prints "no irq found". This also happens, if I specify an IRQ with
insmod. I also tried to "echo "7" > /dev/parport/0/irq", but that had no
effect on the probing. When my kernel starts up, it detects the ParaPort on
0x278, but doesn't print an IRQ. I think, the problem is, that my parport
doesn't have an irq?!? In my BIOS, I can enter the base address and type
(SPP, ECP, ECP+EPP), but no irq.
Anybody with the same problem, or anybody who has a clue? Using the
trakker.o-module was even worse. bpck should work, but how can I convince
him to use an irq?
Thanks a bunch!!
