My Windows and OS/2 partitions obviously can't read my Linux partitions.
However, the backup software I have for those environments is
best suited to backing up all the necessary file attributes and properties
so as to ensure a safe restore.

Besides, Linux HPFS support is read-only at the stable level.  So in the
event of a hard drive crash, I wouldn't be able to write those files back
to the partition anyway.
