Julian and all other ftape users,
I have tried to make this info obvious on the Linux Tape Certification
site (http://www.LinuxTapeCert.org) in the TechHelp section. Claus is a
very busy Masters student - between his school schedule and his trying
to eek out a living, the ftape project has been relegated to the bottom
of the list now that things have stabilized.
Also, it is very important for everyone to understand that the latest
version of the drivers have proven very robust and stable (other than
installation misunderstandings). As such, I'm recommending that the
September 11th release be adopted as complete and am recommending that
it actually be referenced as ftape-4.1.
If you are an ftape user and are using the 1999_09_11 release, I would
appreciate feedback concerning any issues that you have had in using the
package. If your problem is one of installation or compiling, before
you send that report, please refer to the updated information on
LinuxTapeCert.org and see if that info solves your problem.
If you are NOT using the
ftp://ftp.LinuxTapeCert.org/pub/ftape/ftape-4.x-1999_09_11.tar.gz
release, please download it, read the install instructions on
http://www.LinuxTapeCert.org in TechHelp, and see if your problems are
resolved.
