Running RedHat 6.0 standard installation on a Pentium 150 with a
QIC-3020 Extra Tape -
tar -cvf /dev/ftape /home/* (or any other location) generates an error
message
Tar cannot open /dev/ftape: no such device

The Ftape FAQ mentions a similar error in regard to "ftmt -f /dev/qft0
status"
and glibly says; "Solution You need to load the zftape.o module to the
kernel as well."

I thought that ftape was already built in to the kernel that RedHat 6.0
uses.

If I need to "load" anything into the kernel to use ftape - How is that
done ?
Exactly, that is...

Thanks,
Brian
